The foreman responsible for the demolition of a dilapidated school building decides to call an independent exorcist, against the general opinion of the neighboring population. Also convinced of the supernatural context, Masurao Kongou accepts the offer and engages in the dark, in search of the responsible entity most conducive to this kind of paranormal event.

Toilet no Hanako-san (トイレの花子さん) is a Japanese urban legend referring to the spirit of a young girl who would haunt school toilets. She would haunt the 3rd cabin of the girls’ bathroom and appear when her first name is said three times. According to legend, those who took up the « Hanako-san challenge » could summon it. To do this, it would be enough to knock three times on the 3rd door of the 3rd floor of the girls’ bathroom, but if she answers you then you must not come in or else she will take you with her. She would presumably be a vengeful spirit. There are theories which say that she would have killed herself or that she would have died in World War II.

There are several urban legends about the origin of Hanako-san. She could be a student who died in World War II, killed by a shell, in that famous cabin while playing hide and seek with her classmates. A second legend relates that she was murdered by an extremely perverse attacker (student or teacher) in these toilets. Finally, a last explanation would be that she would have committed suicide, still in this toilet.
