We are at the end of November. The hot spring town, Yomase-machi, was already a winter wonderland, having been dyed white by falling snow. Yuuki moved to this snowy town to help his grandparents clear the snow at their home, the former Yamanouchi-sou boarding house. He has met a lot of warm people, including mausoleum Sayuki who worries about his inability to properly greet strangers, his mysterious but cheerful roommate and senpai Mizuki, and the happy and energetic mascot of the local cafe, Koharu.

Meanwhile, his grandfather suggested that he find love while he is still young,  and that he should pursue a new life seriously. It’s time for him to take the first step and fall in love. That evening, Mizuki takes an invigorating shower then a nice hot bath. She wonders if she should have her first time with Shujinkou. After getting out of her bath, she asks him to eat ice cream. Things are not going to work out the way they should.

Amakano is a vanilla series based on a visual novel of the same name. It depicts some of what we assume to be the playing journeys of the three girls. Believable settings or plots have almost nothing to do with the enjoyment of hentai. Particularly relevant in an anime based on a visual novel, where sexual scenes usually represent considerable progress in a relationship. Each girl has a decent aesthetic appeal, distinctive facial features. It was easy to notice changes in expression from scene to scene. It was a mellow, pleasant watch. Didn’t quite have me scrambling for a box of tissues, but I would recommend it to someone who liked vanilla hentai.
