While the rest of the girls recover from the beach party incident, Aika, Eri and Karen must explore the destination on their own. They use a submarine to head to the depths where there is an underground base, complete with an airport runway. Karen begins to remember things about the base and leads the way to a laboratory area. As Karen is the key to opening the lab doors, Aika and Eri put her to sleep. They unlock the lab, only to discover a large number of rooms and a group of clones that resemble Karen.

However, the clones are not friendly, attacking both girls until Aika defeats most of them. Then a giant Karen arrives and beats Aika. Aika retreats to wake Karen, who communicates with the giant Karen to make peace, and they can leave. The miniseries follows 16-year-old Aika Sumeragi, who recently earned her Class C license to become a scavenger, a person who searches for treasure among the ruins of Earth’s cities that have been submerged following global earthquakes .

Aika Zero R-16: Virgin Mission is a Japanese OVA series animated by Studio Fantasia and directed by Katsuhiko Nishijima. This series follows Aika Sumeragi, who finds herself drawn into a plot to dominate the world. The series was released in Japan in 2009. On April 25, 2007, the first volume of the three-part prequel OVA AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission, detailing the time when Aika was 16, was released in Japan. A remastered version of the original series was also released, as well as a special live-action edition of Agent Aika. In 2009, the sequel OVA AIKa ZERO starring 19-year-old Aika was released.
